From the moment I met John and Becca I knew we’d be a great fit. Over coffee and conversation, I became convinced that Becca and I were kindred spirits with our love for academics, check lists, and animals… and I kept saying to John he had so many similar qualities as my favorite guy, who also loves to cook and has a great work ethic. After hugging goodbye… I knew I wanted to see them both again.
It didn’t take but fifteen minutes after pulling away from our meet and greet that I received the text that they wanted me to be their photographer, Yippee! I remember being smitten thinking,” this is going to be a fun one,” and I was not disappointed.
Becca and John had an absolutely amazing wedding day, held at the gorgeous Jefferson Patterson Park in Calvert County, MD with an abundance of beautiful trees and greenery. Becca was once dubbed the forest fairy princess so she felt this would, of course, be a fitting backdrop for their occasion. Even despite some inclement weather we managed to make the most of it and have a ball! Attitude truly is everything because even in the midst of downpours they both continued to put a positive twist on everything, and I loved it!
They were calm and all smiles from the moment I saw each of them that morning, and as it should be, they had waited quite a long time for this, being thirteen and fifteen years old when they first met and their sweet little love blossomed.
Their love story is too cute not to share…they met as young teenagers at the County Fair. John saw Becca from across the way thinking she was very pretty, he then mentioned this fact to his friend, who insisted he knew Becca and would happily strike up a conversation with her, but John was a little shy and sat to the side. However, Becca, being the sweetheart she is felt terrible that this poor guy was sitting all by his lonesome and invited him to join in the conversation. The next thing they knew, Becca and John, alongside two of their best friends, ended up spending several hours together having the time of their lives. John and Becca remained instant best friends and called each other often, starting to date not long after. Becca shared that no one thought they would last because they were so young, understandably so, she said. However, they knew even then that everything had perfectly aligned for them to find one another and they had no doubts they were each other’s true soul mates.
Now, fast forward several years, and they are ready to start their lives together as husband and wife. John is pursuing a career in cooking and Becca just finished her degree in Psychology and Neuroscience and accepted her first job in Virginia. Now that they have their careers in line, they felt it was time to say,“I do!”
Becca and John have gotten it right from the moment they met, and their wedding was no exception. They clearly understand what matters in life and put the most emphasis on just having a beautiful day with close family and friends and keeping things sweet and simple.
Thank you both so much for inviting me to share in the fun and capture your beautiful memories for you. It was such an honor and I hope you’ll enjoy looking back on these moments for many many years to come.
You are such a beautiful couple! Congratulations!
